The Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is an upgraded version of the Raspberry Pi 3 single-board computer. The Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is powered by a Broadcom BCM2837B0 SoC, which integrates a 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 operating at 1.4 GHz, and the system also integrates 1 GB of LPDDR2 SDRAM. The SoC also integrates a GPU allowing the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ to operate at 1080p at 30 fps while also integrating H.264 and MPEG-4 decoding, and the use of an HDMI connector allows for connecting to HDMI-compliant screens.
Wireless network connectivity is provided on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ via an integrated Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4-GHz/5-GHz Wi-Fi controller. Wired network connectivity is provided via a Gigabit Ethernet connection over USB 2.0, which provides a maximum transfer rate of 300 Mbps, and the use of Power over Ethernet enables powering the Raspberry Pi via a network connection.
I/O connectivity on the Raspberry Pi 3 B + is provided via four USB2.0 ports, a CSI camera port, a DSI display port, a four-pole stereo and composite video output, a micro SD port for use with operating and file systems, and a 5-VDC power input. Further I/O support is provided with the use of a 40-pin GPIO header that allows access to various ports on the Broadcom SoC, including I2C, SPI, and UART.
